Summary

Results of the 2013 LessWrong Census/Survey (1636 respondents, up from 1195 and 1090 — real growth across lurkers/commenters/posters except the stagnant Main-posters, with continued ~40% turnover). The usual categorical and numeric data (sex, gender, orientation, the probability-estimate table, etc.) with light commentary by Scott and Ozy. As with the other survey-results posts, valuable as a longitudinal community snapshot but fundamentally a data dump rather than an essay.

Why this score

Quality 51 · Solid. Solid (low). Competent community data, useful mainly as the longitudinal series; a survey dump with light annotation, scored low per the survey-post convention. 51.

Claude’s paradigm shift 20 · Slight. Slight. Reports data, not ideas. 20.

Real-world impact 2 · Minor. The 2013 LessWrong census results; valuable as the longitudinal series but a data dump with light commentary, no material-world reach → RWI 2.
