"But" vs. "Yes, But"

A very short discourse-norm heuristic (companion to 'If It's Worth Your Time To Lie, It's Worth My Time To Correct You'): when someone proves you flatly wrong about a specific point, say 'Oh, I was wrong, sorry' before pivoting to your next argument. Two reasons: it makes you track how many of your arguments are getting disproven (a conscientiousness check), and it signals to your interlocutor that the discussion has real win-conditions rather than being a void to bombard. Most people hold beliefs for several reasons, so conceding one argument needn't mean abandoning the belief — but you should increment the counter.
